Yihua Tan is an associate professor of the Department of Intelligent Science and Technology, School of Automation. He is a member of National Key Laboratory of Science and Technology on Multispectral Information Processing, and Key Laboratory of Image Processing and Intelligent Control, Ministry of Education. He is also an IEEE member.
His research covers the following areas: (1) Image/video compression: DCT/wavelet based codec optimization, JPEG/JPEG2000, H.263/H.263+,H.264
(2) Image/video Processing: Image Enhancement, Image Restoration, Image/Video Super-resolution, image denoising
(3) Image/video Analysis: image segmentation, Object recognition, motion segmentation, local invariant feature extraction, object classification based on machine learning, object tracking
(4) Remote sensing image processing: object detection from high-resolution remote sensing imagery, Anomaly detection of Hyperspectral data
(5) Machine Learning: Deep Learning , Transfer Learning, Learning From Small Samples
