Research Interests:

Shanmei Cheng received the B.E. degree in power electronics, M.E. and Ph. D. degree in control theory and control engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 1988, 1991 and 2002, respectively. Presently, he is a professor in the School of Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, where he is engaged in teaching and research in the field of power electronics and motion control. From 2006 to 2007, he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, as a visiting professor. He has published more than 100 technical papers and authored two books. His current interests are Novel Power Converter, Equipments and Systems of Power Electronics, Converter of New Energy, Control Theory and Applications of AC Motors, Applications of Embedded Microcontrollers.
