Research Interests:

He graduated from Electrical and Automation Major, HUST in 1969. After graduating he has engaged in teaching and research of automatic control theory and systems in HUST since 1969. Professor Huang served as a member of control topics expert group of intelligent robotics subject(512 Subject) in National High Technique Research Developing Plan(863 Plan). He is now a senior member of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and Chairman of the Specialty Committee of Intelligent Robotics. He also is vice chairman of Hubei Province Association for Artificial Intelligence. He is the member of editorial board for magazines including International Journal of Information Acquisition, International Journal of Advanced Intelligence, CAAI Transactions on Intelligent Systems and American IEEE member. His research interests are the areas of intelligent control, intelligent robotics, multi sensor integration and information fusion, image processing and pattern recognition. Professor Huang joined the Robotics Institute of Carnegie-Mellon University at Pittsburgh, USA as a visiting scholar from 1985 to 1986 and the Systems Engineering Division of Wales University at Cardiff, UK as a senior visiting scholar in 1996 to engage in the theory and application research for robotic control, sensing and information fusion techniques. He presided over more then 50 research projects including Chinese National Natural Science Foundation, National High Technique Research Developing Plan(863 Plan), National Science and Technology Support Plan, military research and provincial scientific research. He has more than 300 research papers published at the national and international journals and conferences and more then 200 papers included in SCI and EI. His 4 monograph books and a translation are published. He obtained 11 national patents and the third prize of Natural Science Award of Hubei Province in 2008. He enjoyed the government special allowance by the State Council of China and the outstanding contributions to young and middle-aged experts of Hubei Province.
