Ⅰ.Educational Objectives

This program aims to cultivate students with scientific, engineering and the humanities as well as the quality of physical and mental health. The students shall obtain basic theory in electronics, control technology, computer technology and measurement technology. The following capabilities shall also be trained such as research and development, engineering practice and team coorperation. The students shall perceive innovative mind and international view though this program. The graduates shall be able to handle engineering professional positions on design and manufacturing, research and development, and operational management, which are measurement and control technology and equipment related, in the area of Automation, communications, energy, environmental protection, biomedicine and  etc.

Ⅱ.Skills Profile

Students are required to master measurement and control technology, technology of obtaining and disposing coexistence information in instrumental system, way of analyzing and designing system. They can also receive fine pratice in instrument design and manufacture. Students are supposed to obtain:

1.  Engineering Knowledge: Able to solve problems of design, development and application in control systems and instrumentation with the foundation and professional knowledge of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering.

2.  Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research on literature and analyse engineering problems in the process of design, development and application of control systems and equipment. Reach substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

3.  Design/Development of Solutions: Able to design solutions on design, development and application of control systems and instrumentation. For example, to design a system, the unit (part), or process to meet the specific needs, and to reflect the sense of innovation in the design session, to consider the legal, health, safety, economic, social and environmental factors.

4. Investigation: Conduct investigations of complex problems using research-based knowledge of measurement and control, and using research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling to solve the complex engineering problems emerged in measurement and control, especially using the internet, database, and the paper and electronic documents in the libraries. Have an understanding of the limitations of these modern tools.

6. The Engineer and Society: Be able to use professional contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice and solutions to engineering problems.

7. Environment and Sustainability: Be able to understand and evaluate the sustainability and impact of professional engineering practice in the solution of engineering problems in societal and environmental conditions.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.

9. Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in teams.

10. Communication: Communicate effectively during R&D and application of instrument with the engineering community and with the public, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions. Have a certain international vision, able to communicate and exchange in the professional background.

11. Project Management and Finance: Obtain knowledge and understanding of engineering management principles and economic decision-making and apply these to manage projects.

12. Lifelong Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
